Below are names of the towns to follow from city of Carcassonne:
-Mazamet
-Villemousstoussou
-Conques sure Orbiel (or just Conques)
-St. Charles
-Las Tours
-Les Ilhes
-La Grave
-Roquefere
-Labastide Esparbairenque
Here are the detailed instructions:
- Once you are in the region of Carcassone on the A61, look for signs and
follow the direction for Mazamet and Villemousstoussou.
Head towards Villemousstoussou until you see signs for Conques sur
Orbiel. (You will be going through a few roundabouts)
- After the roundabouts, you will be driving through many vineyards. Keep
going. You will see windmills in the hills in the distance (on a clear day)
and will pass a Renault dealership on the right.
- You will hit the junction for Conques sur Orbiel -- there is a junction
with lots of little signs and a Pharmacie on the right. Keep going straight
in the direction of Las Tours. You will pass a Peugot dealership on your
left and will drive through more vineyards.
- Keep going toward the windmills. You will see a cluster of houses called
St. Charles. Keep going. The area will be more densely treed. Keep going.
Continue straight through a tiny village called Moulin D'Artigues. You are
still going in the direction of Las Tours, and the area becomes more mountainous.
- Finally, you drive through Las Tours.
Stay on the main road through the towns Les Ilhes, La Grave. You will come
to a junction with a huge rock face and many signs.Turn right in the
direction of Roquefere and Labastide Esparbairenque.
- Go straight through Roquefere, passing by its excellent restaurant Le Sire
de Cabaret, following the signs for the direction Pradelles Cabardes. (It's
the only option on the main road). The next town is Labastide
Esparbairenque.
- There is a sharp veer left at the sign for the village and,
soon after, a fork in the road. Take the left fork, drive past the little
garage, go around a slight bend and park in the little parking
area overlooking the valley. You can walk from the little parking area toward
La Muse, which is the first house after a small chapel, about 20 yards. Our front door is on the left just after the phone booth in front of the Mairie. The La Muse entrance has a sign and big red gate beside the little chapel. The big red door beside the sign is the La Muse studio.
