We welcome writers and artists to apply to come to La Muse as barters on work exchange stays.
At present we are very interested in finding a creative couple with management/service, communication and home improvement skills for an extended partial barter stay of 6 months or more. Please spread the word!
However, in the main, we are unable to offer full barter stays at present. Instead, we are happy to have people here on a partial barter.
Partial Barters: barters come for a little over four weeks, to wrap around and do the turnover for (i.e. cleaning) a one-week and three-week retreat during their stay. They will pay a partial fee, at least 50% off. They are lodged either at La Muse or, when the main house is full, in the house across the street. They will also offer the equivalent of one full eight hour working day of marketing for La Muse.
General Barters: This kind of work depends on the season and the number of other residents at the house, but would include anything from building stone walls and gardening to home improvement, grant research for the owners, or organizational assistance.
Barters - How to Apply
Applicants for the barter position should follow the instructions on the how to apply section of the website, and indicate barter position in the subject line of their email.
